The Clothes Closet, located in Oxford Mississippi, was started in 2018 after seeing and identifying the overwhelming need of its students. With the intention and hopes to give students in the Oxford School District a discreet place to go when in need of basic clothing and hygiene items. Students in need are identified by counselors, teachers, and nurses. Those students are then given access to the closet (along with an adult), where the kids are able to have a full shopping experience. Most items in the closet are brand new because we feel there is value in a child being able to “shop” for themselves and choose an unused item of clothing that makes them feel confident!

The closet is also used for children and families in the Oxford community whom are in emergency situations and in immediate need. The Clothes Closet is able to fill a gap and make sure our boys and girls can walk into school confidently having what they need. We are so very grateful for this First annual Zebra Open knowing the hundreds of children it will impact this year!
